Media evaluation (Film Mr. Reliable)

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My media products challenges the genre, which I choose of comedy by adding a British element into it with the music which was don’t stare back into the sun by the libertines.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

It represents particular social groups by showing the character in a certain social group. The character that I have chosen in my film is “Bobby”; his social group is clearly shown by him being a young man who is late for his very important business meeting. He is clearly very unreliable due to him waking up late and forgetting the important document.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

I think that an impendent British film company would invest in my film due to it not costing a lot to make due to not many special effects and it only needing a I Mac. Also they would invest due to it having elements of British film even though it was suppose to be just comedy but like I said with the music I added it is now more British comedy.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

My target audience that I have chosen is young people that can relate to the character. So young unreliable men would be a good target audience due to them being able to relate themselves to the character. But also anyone who enjoys comedy or wants to have a laugh can enjoy themselves.

How did you attract/address your audience?

I attracted my audience by adding a funny element into it which attracts a wide range of the public due to the genre I choose comedy being so popular and very one enjoy the genre comedy.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have learnt how to use a video camera and how to work it and what to press and how to film, I have also learnt how to work and edit on an I Mac computer this means that I now no how to use an I Mac and if I ever want to use or produce another film or video I can now do it.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you haven’t learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

I feel that I haven’t learnt how to work in a group due to me working by myself and it gave to the opportunity to be impendent and work and depend on myself and not let other people do it for me.

StoryBoards

Mood Board

The genre that i have chosen for my two minute opening to a film is comedy, this mood board shows some of the key conventions of the genre comedy. This includes the bright colours and the facial reactions that are needed for a sucessful comedy. This can help me in my filming due to me being able to look back and see what i need to do to make my film funny and make sure that it fits all the key conventions of the comedy genre.
